Group Stalker Biography

The group was organized by Andrei Derzhavin - a young composer, the author of all music and arrangements. His friend, Sergey Kostrov, a professional disc, the author of the texts of all songs of the group, helped him. At that moment, they studied at the Ukhta Industrial Institute. The style of the group was Electropop. The guys played in youth clubs and discos. At first, the group was a purely studio project, the vocalist could not find and Andrei Derzhavin himself became the group vocalist.

The guys wanted to create new music using all the achievements of modern technology using synthesizers, sequences, computers.

Sergei took up the texts, and Alexander Chuvashov joining them for drums on July 7, the first song of the group, Stars, was recorded. This day is considered the birthday of the Stalker group. The cassette diverged among the acquaintances of the DJs. The group comes to the group: Alexander Barbarin and Alexander Ershov are both from G. and in this composition, in the fall of the year, the second project of the group comes out - Stalker “We need peace” Propeller Records this project allowed us to protect ourselves from the attacks of Komsomol leaders and different ideological and political authorities who accused the group of lack of spirituality and anti -Soviet.

In a certain sense, the authors themselves consider the song cult, since in the draft version of the album "Star" this song opened all the programs. The authors regard this masterpiece as a reasonable compromise in the fight against communist idiocy. This project is recorded as part: Andrey Derzhavin - Mus. Vitaly Liechtenstein and Sergey Terentyev come to the group, and Kirov guys leave the group.

The songs of the group immediately attracted the listeners with their melody, sincerity of texts, and dance. The album diverges around the country with incredible speed, the number of fans is growing, the Stalker is offered a two -year contract of the Komi Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic of the city of Ukhta and the long -term tour of the groups for the cities of the country begin ...

During the tour, the guys prepare a new album. But there is practically no free time to work in the studio, and Andrei decides to record it right on the trip. The song “I will wait” immediately becomes a hit and twice takes 1st place in the program “Music Tournament”. The tour continues ... The concerts were everywhere with great success, apparently also because the Stalker categorically refuses the phonogram.

The guys used computers, synthesizers, samplers at their concerts, excellently owning this complex technique. Andrei Derzhavin at the end of the year, during a tour in the city, visiting the “Machine ”’s performances at the Stalker concerts, Alexander invites Andrei to record a new album and two giant disks in his synthesis studio. Derzhavin and S. Kostrov accept an invitation and come to Moscow.

Alexander Kutikov, who became a sound producer of Stalker, successfully forms a new-“stalker” sound. Almost six months, the recording of this material lasts. Representatives of foreign grames show interest in it. In parallel, the guys star in several video clips for central television, participate in many radio broadcasts ... Also, Stalker will rewrite the previously released albums “Stars” and “Following News”.
