George Suvorov Biography

Tikhonov Georgy Kuzmich Suvorov was born on April 11 in the village of Krasnoturansky Krasnoyarsk Territory. He was left early without parents. Grew up in orphanages. After the end of the Abakan pedagogical school, he worked as a teacher of the Russian language and literature in the village of Judino, Minusinsky district, now the village of Bondarevo, Baisky district, the Republic of Khakassia.

And then - war ... fights near Moscow, the Leningrad Front. Suvorov wrote poetry in the breaks between battles, in hospitals. On the pages of the division newspaper, many verses, essays, notes were published. It is printed in the magazines Leningrad and Star, in the Siberian periodicals. On the Leningrad Front, close friendship connected Suvorov with Mikhail Dudin, Sergey Narovchatov, Nikolai Tikhonov - the apartment of the latter in the blockade Leningrad was a kind of literary headquarters.

In the year in Leningrad, the first book of verses by Georgy Suvorov, a twenty-year-old warrior poet, defending the city on the Neva, was published. Only thirty -two poems entered it. The editor and compiler of the collection Mikhail Dudin wrote in the preface: “This is the first and last book of George Suvorov. He will not write anything else. It is difficult to say what he would do in the future, because he had too many opportunities, temperament, will and the power that had not yet found a real exit.

And these verses are only a small part of his character. ” The lyrics of Suvorov, according to a very accurate definition of his peer -siberian Leonid Reshetnikov - “confession before the battle,” outlined the “beautiful and tragic appearance of the generation”, expressed his attitude and understanding of his purpose on Earth. The book was published at the end of the year, and at the beginning of it - February 13 - the guards lieutenant, the commander of the armor -piercing Georgy Suvorov was mortally wounded during the crossing of the Narova River and on February 14 died in the hospital from the wounds.

For the book of poems “The Word of a Soldier” in the year, G. Suvorov was posthumously awarded the memorial medal of the competition named after Nikolai Ostrovsky.
