Biography of Narayana Maharaja
Narayana Maharaja was born on the day of the Novomnoliya Amavasya, on February 16, in the religious and educated family of Trivadi-Brahmans in the famous village of Tivaripur, the Baksar region of Bikhar, India. Tivaripur used to be located on the shore of Patit-Pavani Bhagavati Gangi, but later it changed its current and is now at some distance from the village. In Tivaripur, only brahmans live; All of them are educated and wealthy.
In ancient times, Lord Ramachandra and Vishvamitra Muni came to these places to deal with the demoness Taraka, as well as, according to legend, the wedding of Sri Ramachandra and Sita-Devi took place here. Both of them were kind, honest people, always helped others, and, above all this, they were the vaisnavs of Sri Sampradai. People from neighboring villages showed them great respect.
Parents and relatives of the child called him Narayana, and the surname of their family was Tivari. In the future, Narayana was destined to become known precisely under this name "Narayan", only the title "Maharaja" added to it. All relatives called the baby Bholanath, because this child was unusually calm. Even in childhood, it noticed a special attraction to Dharma. He always sang with desire and repeated the holy name of Bhagavan, and no one forced him to do this.
They read the Srimad-Bhagavatam, Gita, Ramayana, Mahabharata, other scriptures, and the boy listened with great faith. Moreover, he was able to remember all the stories from Ramayana and Mahabharata. The child, along with his father, often visited the Kirtans and religious meetings of Hari-Sabha, where they read Ramayana and Mahabharata. Having received primary education at a village school, he entered a secondary school in a bucks, which was five miles from the house.
Every day he went to school on foot and returned back. Despite such difficulties, he was always one of the first in the class, thanks to his extraordinary intelligence. He also had a special addiction to athletics. Once he even became the champion of Bihar, and received many prizes for his success at school. After graduating from college, he decided not to continue his higher education.
Thanks to his achievements in sports, he easily received a good job in the police department. For three or four years he gave this public service in the city of Sahabgange Bihar. After the very first conversation with Narratamananda Prabhu Narayan, Tivari was convinced of the superiority of Acharyev’s philosophy in the line of Srila Rupa Goswamipad. Every day he began to come to meetings that were satisfied with the Goward-Vishnava, and with Vera listened to Srimad-Bhagavatam.
Sometimes he sat with Narratamananda Brahmachari all night, listening to Hari-Katha. Such communication with pure Vaishnavas and the listening of Hari Katha had a huge impact on Narayana Tyvariga. He was always inclined to religious faith, and now his life has completely changed. When the preachers left, he began to repeat 64 Kharinama circles every day every day.
Gradually, a natural desire to renounce this world awakened in his heart. Now Narayana Tivari has already completely turned away from the material life. Several times he filed a petition for resignation from the police department, but senior officials, very pleased with his conscientious service, refused to accept such a request. At the end of the year, he still managed, with great difficulty, to quit the service.
He left everything - parents, brothers, friends, wife, family members, wealth, house, and, having no material property of Nizhkinchan, he came to Sri Navadvip Dhamu and indulged in the lotus feet of his Sri Gurudev. From that time he began to call him Sri Gaura-Naraana in Goura-Purnim. Seeing his special interest in the listening of Hari Katha, Srila Keshava Gosvami Maharaj took him to his place and took him in the service.
Going somewhere to preach or on other matters, he always took Gore-Naraana with him. Once Srila Keshava Gosvami instructed Goura-Narayana and other students to take care of his dear young servant Sri Anang-Mokhan Brahmachary, who was seriously ill with tuberculosis. Gaura-Naraana Prabhu carefully looked after him in the hospital, but despite the good treatment, the young Anang-Mokhan Prabhu left this world.
He gave him the title "Bhakta-Bandhav", "friend of the devotees", because he seriously served the Vaishnavas. Gaura-Naraana Prabhu traveled a lot with his Srila Guru Maharaja throughout the subcontinent, along and across, and learned to preach Suddha-Bhakti from him. This was an exceptional opportunity for him to listen to Hari Katha. Srila Keshava Gosvami Maharaj was also very happy to teach such a student Bhakti-Tatva.
Gaura-Naraana received the rare opportunity to make the Parcrams with his Gurudev in all the main places of the pilgrimage of the northern, southern, eastern and Western India and hear about the glory of the Holy Dham. I have seen many Indians of non-Bengal origin, but they cannot understand in the entire depths the elevated bhakti-Siddhanta Sriman Mahapabhu, especially the prema-Tatwa.
But with a pure heart, you could very easily accept and understand all these deep bhava.Sri Rupa, Sri Sanatan and many of our Goward Vaisnava-Acharyev remained in the leader for a long time, but it was difficult for them to find such bhakt from Northern India, which could take in the heart the innermost bhaman Mahaprabhu. You are unusually lucky, Sri Gaura -Naraana fell to the lotus feet of his guru, speaking with great humility: “I completely dedicated my life to your lotus feet.
I left everything - attachment to my mother, love for my wife, friendship of my friends, and gave myself to my lotus footsteps. You can do anything with me - to keep me undressed or put on only in a loincloth, give me white clothes or saffron, give me a sannyas or not. Treat me as it will be more favorable for me. I only belong to you. "When Srila Keshava Gosvami Maharage heard such words, tears performed before his eyes.
He looked at Sripad Sanatan Prabhu and saw that he was also amazed at what he was heard. He was silent for some time, thinking, and then continued to speak Hari-Katha. Soon, to Goura-Purnim, Sri in the year. Goura-Narayan, together with two senior spiritual brothers, received a dedication to Sannyasu and began to wear the name of Bhaktivant Narajan Maharaj. Acharyev with Bengali on his native Hindi, Maharaj, following the instructions and leadership of his Srila Gurudev, began to publish in Mathur a monthly magazine on Hindi Bhagavat-Patrika and translations on Hindi of such books as Jayva Dharma, Chitanya-Shikshamrit.
Bhakti-Tattva-Vevveta, Vaishnava-Siddhanta-Mala, Sriman Mahaprabhu Shiksha, Padadeshamrit, Shikshastaka, Manami-Shiksha, Sindhu-Kan-Kana, Goudia Kanthahar, Bhagavad-Gita with a commentary Vishvanathi Chakravarti Thakura and others. Currently, many of these books are translated by his followers into English and other languages. Narayana Maharaj began to spend one part of the year in Matchur, and the other in Bengal, completely devoting himself to serving.
This went on for 14 years. Srila Bhaktipragyan Keshava Gosvami also appointed him as vice president of the Sri Gowdie Samiti society he created, as well as the chief editor of the monthly magazine Bhagavat-Patrick and all publications on Hindi. In the year, Srila Bhaktipragyan Keshava Maharaj left this world. In the same period, Naraja Maharaj began to hold the annual grozu-mandala-paramrrams per month of the picture, which continue to this day.
Of particular importance in the life of Naraja Maharaja was his communication with Srila A. Bhactantta Swami Maharaja Prabhupada, known in the world as a preacher of Goward-Vishnavism and the founding of the Coskon society. For the first time they met in the year, and their communication lasted several years, for example, when Narayana Maharaja accompanied Srila Bhaktipragyan Keshawa Maharaja in Dzhansi, where Abhai Charanarawinda Prabhu Srila Bhactsedanta Swami tried to establish the "league of the devotees." A few years later, at the beginning of X, Abhai Charanarawinda Prabhu at the invitation of his spiritual brother Srila Bhakpyphergyana Keshava Maharaja and Narajana Maharaja, the abbot of the match, came to Mathura, in Sri Keshavaji Gaudiy Match, where he spent several months.
As a result of communication and deep conversations on the topics of Vaishnava-Siddhants, Naraja Maharaja developed close relations with him. The Vedic Agni-Hotra and all the rituals were carried out by Narayana Maharaj, and he also prepared Danda for Abhai Charanararavinda Prabhu and showed him how to dress the clothes of Sannyasi. Narayana Maharaj often visited him there.
Sometimes they cooked together and then took Prasad in that kitchen, whose windows overlooks Samadhi Srila Rups Gosvami, and in a friendly environment discussed the philosophy of Vaishnavas. He also sent the Radha-Krishna deity and the books necessary for translating in Sanskrit and Bengali. After that, he sometimes continued to write Narayana Maharaja. Before his departure, he asked Narajan Maharaja to help his Western students.
Narayana Maharaj humbly agreed to fulfill his request, considering him his elder. Srila Bhactantta Swami Maharaj also asked Narajan Maharaja to conduct all the necessary rituals for his samadhi, which he did. Over the 20 years that passed after the departure of Srila A. Bhactanta Swami Prabhupada in November, Narayana Maharaj from time to time gave instructions and provided for those who came to him with such a request, especially the followers of Sri Srimad A.
Bhactsedanta Swami Prabhupada. Narayana Maharaja, even after he underwent several heart operations, continues to give lectures on Hindi, Bengali and English in Keshavji Goudia Mathe Mathura and in other places.
