In each of these directions, he received fundamental scientific results, widely known and recognized both in our country and abroad. Alexander Alexandrovich developed a method for the prediction of strong seismic soil movements based on the extrapolation of focal spectra along the scale of the moment magnituds, for which he built a fundamentally new scheme for the scale of focal spectra with a violation of the likeness of bicom -humped spectra and gave a tectonophysical explanation of this scheme.

Gusev created an algorithm and programs for calculating seismic danger used in the preparation of seismic regions of the Koryaksky AO, and then Russia. Gusev, as part of the team of OSR developers in Gusev, developed a unique methodology for restoring the vertical profile of the clushing coefficient of turbidity for longitudinal and transverse waves in the lithosphere according to the vulgarization of a non -power pulse with a distance.

Alexander Aleksandrovich Gusev was an outstanding specialist in the field of seismology, and in particular in its directions as: the physics of the focus of the earthquake, the harbingers of earthquakes, the destructive fluctuations of the soil, scattered seismic waves, processing data and solving reverse tasks.

He made a very great contribution to the improvement of regulatory documents on seismic -resistant construction in Russia and ensuring the safety of the population of seismically active territories. With all his activities, Alexander Alexandrovich earned the deep respect of the leading seismologists in the world. His works are widely known to specialists and received worldwide recognition.

Numerous methods and computer programs created by him are used in the current processing of data obtained by the Kamchatka branch of the Federal Research Center “Unified Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences” of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Alexander Aleksandrovich regularly participated in Russian and international conferences as an invited speaker and convention.
